The complex was built by the architect Anupy for king Senusert II in the 12th dynasty. It consists of the mud brick pyramid and eight mastabas to the north of the pyramid, and the so-called Queen’s pyramid.
This Mausoleum is attributed to Fayoum’s favourite Sheikh, Ali Ruby who was one of the descendants of Prophet Muhammed’s uncle El-Abbass. the Mausoleum was built in 793 AH during the reign of Sultan Barquq as it is engraved on the wooden board inside the dome.
