- Explore the Legacy of the Crocodile:









Fayoum in ancient time was the chief cult place of the Crocodile god Sobek. In this adventure we will have the chance to visit some crocodile temples in Fayoum Governorate. We will start the adventure with visiting Qasr Qaroun Temple in the ancient city of Dioynsias after that we will proceeding to visit the fascinating ruins of Medinat Madi City where the crocodile god, Sobek was worshiped together with cobra goddess of harvest, Rennuttet then we will go back to Tunis Village where we will have lunch.

Fayoum Water Heritage Adventure











Fayoumer will take you on a journey through more than 4,000 years of Fayoum’s water heritage, exploring the remarkable systems that have shaped life in the oasis from ancient times to the present day. The adventure begins in Tunis Village as we head towards Hadeer Village near Fayoum city to see the iconic Fayoum waterwheels, an iconic symbol of the Fayoum and its traditional irrigation system which were introduced into the Fayoum from the Greaco Roman Time. We then make a stop in Fayoum City to pick up some bakery snacks from Sablee Patisserie store <3 before continuing our journey.
Stop in Lahun to explore the Lahun Pyramid, built around 4,000 years ago by Pharaoh Senusret II, followed by a visit to the historic Lahun Dam and its Sidi Gadallah arm , one of the earliest known dams associated with water management in the Fayoum.
Along the way, Fayoumer will share the story of Bahr Youssef and the remarkable water-management project developed during the Middle Kingdom to bring and distribute Nile water throughout the Fayoum Depression. The adventure concludes with a visit to Hawara Pyramid, built by Pharaoh Amenemhat III, followed by lunch in Fayoum City or a return to Tunis Village.

- Explore the Lost World of Fayoum, The North of Lake Qaroun:











On a 4WD, We’ll start this adventure with visiting Dimeh city or Soknopaious Nesos, a Greaco-Roman site with its magnificent ruins of temples, walls and a processional road. Then we’ll visit a 4000 years old temple of Qasr Sagha where we will admire its unique architecture. after that we will continue exploring the area with a visit to the oldest paved road and the Widan El Faras basalt quarrys then we’ll follow our way to explore Fayoum’s petrified forest open air museum, 34 millions years old forest with its well preserved logs of trees then we’ll head to hike in Wadi Afreet and have light snacks and drink bedouin tea.

We will start this fun adventure with visiting the upper lake of Wadi Rayan National Park and have an introduction about the protected area of Wadi Rayan. we will have the chance to visit Fayoum’s Extraordinary Wadi Hitan, the first and the only UNESCO natural heritage site in Egypt. We’ll have picnic (a light lunch) in Wadi Hitan Cafeteria and then we’ll continue exploring Mudawarra mountain and its panorama view then at the end we will stop to see Egypt’s only Waterfalls then departure to Tunis Village.

Pottery Pigeon Houses, Abbadiya and Lake Qaroun









Cycle from Tunis Village through the rural landscapes to Abbadiya, with a special visit to the Fayoum Pottery School. Step inside its iconic pigeon house and the private workspace where Evelyne Porret once worked and created pottery with Michel Pastore, with an opportunity to see some of their actual works. From the pottery school, continue by bike to Abbadiya village to discover the remains of an old Fayoumi-style pigeon house, then ride through the fields towards Lake Qaroun for a short lakeside stop to learn about its history before cycling back to Tunis Village.

Join Fayoumer on a relaxed ride from Tunis Village towards the main Qaroun Canal or El Bahr El Kebir as the locals call it. As we cycle alongside the canal, we’ll discover the fascinating history of Fayoum’s irrigation system and how water has shaped life in the oasis for thousands of years. The route continues through several peaceful villages and farmlands until we reach the hidden Graeco-Roman town of Euhemeria. Here, we’ll explore the remains of this once-thriving settlement, including its ancient bathhouses, while uncovering the stories of the people who lived here more than two thousand years ago. After exploring Euhemeria, we’ll get back on our bikes and take a different route through the fields and countryside on our way back to Tunis Village.

Cycling to Qasr Qaroun – Ancient Dionysias with Fayoumer!



Set off from Tunis Village on a longer countryside cycling adventure towards Qasr Qaroun, the modern name of ancient Dionysias town. We’ll follow the peaceful Qaroun Canal through the countryside, passing fields, palm trees, and irrigation channels along the way heading west. As we ride, we’ll explore the fascinating relationship between water and agriculture in Fayoum, while Fayoumer shares stories about the landscapes and communities around us. Our destination is the remarkably well-preserved God Sobek Temple of Qasr Qaroun, where we’ll discover the history of ancient Dionysias town and its connection with the god Sobek. After exploring the temple, we’ll leave the main roads behind and cycle back through fields, villages, and quiet countryside.
